Tualatin Valley Farm Loop
About this farm route
The Tualatin Valley starts about twenty minutes west of Portland and is some of the most productive farmland in Oregon: berries, hazelnuts, nursery stock and, in October, pumpkins on an industrial scale. The farms on this route sit on the back roads between Sherwood, Scholls and Hillsboro, close enough together that the whole loop is an easy half day. The season here runs longer than in most farm country. Strawberries start in June, marionberries and raspberries follow through midsummer, and the pumpkin patches and corn mazes take over from late September. Coming in July and coming in October give you two genuinely different trips on the same roads.

When to go
Best time to go
June through August for berries, late September through October for pumpkins. Winter is quiet and many stops close.

Know before you go
- Berry picking is a morning activity here. Fields are often picked out by early afternoon in peak week.
- October weekends at the pumpkin patches are the busiest days of the year on these roads.
- The farm roads are narrow with soft shoulders and no lighting after dark.
